About Me
I’m Oscar, a Brighton-based guitarist and tutor with over 20 years of playing experience. Music has taken me from learning and practising to performing and recording, but one of the most rewarding parts has always been helping others learn. I now teach relaxed, personalised guitar lessons in Brighton & Hove and online, helping kids, adults, beginners and improvers build confidence and enjoy making progress.

Why I love Playing guitar
Music has always been a huge part of my life. Guitar has taken me from learning and practising to performing and recording, while constantly giving me something new to explore. What I love most now is helping other people experience that same feeling, build confidence and discover how rewarding it is to play music they genuinely enjoy.
WHY I LOVE TEACHING GUITAR
Teaching guitar means helping people do something they once thought they could not. The best moments are seeing a student play a song, master a new skill or simply feel more confident with the instrument.

Are the guitar lessons suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Oscar offers relaxed guitar lessons for complete beginners who may never have picked up a guitar before. Lessons move at your pace, starting with simple chords, rhythm and songs you actually want to learn.
Do you teach both children and adults?
Yes. Guitar lessons are available for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners through to improving players. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s age, confidence, goals and learning style.
Where do the guitar lessons take place?
In-person guitar lessons are available in Brighton & Hove. Online guitar lessons are also available for students who live further away or prefer to learn from home.
Do you offer acoustic and electric guitar lessons?
Yes. Oscar teaches both acoustic and electric guitar. Lessons can cover chords, rhythm, riffs, lead playing, technique and understanding how songs fit together.
How long are the lessons?
Thirty-minute lessons are generally recommended for children and complete beginners. One-hour lessons are usually better suited to adults and improving players who want more time to develop their skills.
Are the lessons suitable for neurodivergent students?
Yes. Lessons can be adapted for students with different learning needs, including ADHD, autism and anxiety-related challenges. Oscar uses a calm, flexible approach with manageable steps and no pressure to learn in one particular way.
